Hello All,
Didn't get to hike this last month so will be going at the end of this month. I was informed that White Wolf is now closed and that is were I was hoping to leave one of the cars (we're taking two cars - leaving one at WW and the other at TM). Now that the gate to WW if closed are you allowed to leave you car right outside? If this is allowed do you recommend this?
The only thing I have found is that parking on Tioga Rd is prohibited after Oct 15th.
Thanks.

WW campground is closed, the resort/lodge closes 9/18.
You can park in a pullout if your tires are off the pavement and you aren't sleeping in the car.
You could always come out at a different trailhead.
Waterfalls aren't going to be really spectacular this late... but it won't be as populated out there, especially with the buses not running and YARTS on a weekend only schedule.

In the past they have not closed the gate after the campground and lodge closed.
I've parked at the WW TH (which is just outside the campground entrance) as late
as Sept. 25th a couple years ago. (2009) I doubt they changed anything.
Even if the gate is closed you can find parking outside the gate off the road
(people will park here early in the year before they open the gate).
I wouldn't change your plans or worry about it. I plan on starting there on Oct. 7th myself.
Have fun

I'm planning on hiking TM to WW on 2014. How is everyone pulling permit for this? What I'm driving at is what month should I be doing this hike in? June? July? I know road condition is going to be difficult to tell until we know if it is a wet winter or not. Any advice regarding permits would be appreciated. I know Glen Aulin has 2 bear boxes for food, but past GA are there any other bear boxes or do I have to bring my own? Thanks in advance.

I don't know what the best timing will be next year, but with regard to the bear can the answer is that you will need one.
