Hello all,
My girlfriend and I are having our vacation in Yosemite in mid-October.
We'd like to do a few day hikes and have a roadbiking day. Additionally, we're both semi professional photographers who enjoy landscape photography.
Can anyone recommend a few day hike recommendations and a roadbike route? Your expertise is greatly appreciated.
***We enjoy local hiking recommendations that only avid hikers know about (away from the main tourist attractions)

You're going to be limited for biking to paved routes, and there are not any other than is represented on the general map. The valley floor is a nice ride in fall.
Day hikes are everywhere. I think you will find that even the popular ones will be far less populated than they usually are in summer. If you haven't been to Yosemite, the ones from the valley floor are all awesome and recommended. Driving up to Glacier Pt Road or Tioga Rd gives you other options - Sentinel Dome/Taft Point is a great, classic and short hike with views you can't beat. Don't miss the "tourist attractions" because you think they will be crowded. Fall and winter cut the crowds down a LOT.

As a cyclist myself, I would suggest that you consider riding from Crane Flat to Tuolumne Meadows...a great ride, and a sweet downhill home.

One more note: The road to Glacier point is a nice ride...but BEWARE THE TUNNEL. There is no option, and the surface is VERY rough. And the cars may not be able to see you, and are in a hurry.
From personal experience. A wild ride.
