Foerster Creek

Has anyone taken the cross country route downstream along Foerster Creek from the High Trail to the Triple Divide Fork of Merced. Alot of people go upstream and over to Blue Lakes, but I'm looking to cut off a few miles on my trek down to Merced Lake. Following the creek doesn't look too bad on a topo, but don't want any surprises.
