Mount Clark

Postby Alex » Wed Feb 20, 2013 9:26 am

Hello, guys, I am thinking about hiking to Mt Clark this summer and I would really appreciate if somebody could clarify some things for me as a lot of info I found online is a little confusing at times.
1) Can I get to the SUMMIT of Mt Clark by regular hiking or do I need a special mounteneering gear?
2) What are the trailheads for Mt Clark? There seems to be one at Mono Meadow and another through Little Yosemite Valley. However, I found no info on where to proceed after you reach LYV.
3) Last but not least, what is the total distance (round trip) for the hike? (Both Mono Meadows trailhead and through LYV). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Please look it up in:
The High Sierra: Peaks, Passes, and Trails: R. J. Secor.
I highly recommend this book for mountaineering.

The route from LYV to Merced lake to the NE face of Mount Clark is class 2.
Any other route is technical.
Good luck.
