short winter hike this week

Postby centurycyclist » Sat Nov 02, 2013 1:52 pm

IF it doesn't snow again this week and the Tioga Road remains open I am planning to go in to Tuolumne for a half-day hike on Thursday or Friday....any suggestions? Might just go out the Lyell Canyon, or Elizabeth Lake? I want to take some pics-have never been up there in winter.

If you haven't been to the top of Lembert Dome, or Pothole DOme, the views at them both are spectacular.

I've been to the top of Lembert Dome a few times, never Pothole Dome...do you think I will have an issue with snow as I go up? I'm willing to try anything. Thanks for your input.

The steepest part is the first fifty feet. Get past that, and you'll be fine
