Hi
Ive got some permits for hiking out of Happy Isles in early may. Once i get to teh trail junction at teh west end of little yosemite valley I'm wondering whether to continue east and hike up little Yosemite Valley or turn on teh JMT and hike sunrise creek. I have been to niether so would appreciate any thoughts?
My bigger plan is a loop route and make it up to clouds rest on the way back, before descending back down to Happy Isles - this would make for a lot of milage for three days going via LYV, but is it worth trying it?
All thoughts appreciated

you might wait and see how much snow falls this week before deciding.

Usually the snow isn't cleared enough by that time to be able to hike up to Cloud's Rest without using snowshoes. This year has been such a light snowpack that it may be possible, you'll just have to keep checking in here to get updates.
LYV is where to crowds are, I always stay at Sunrise Creek. That would also put you into closer proximity to completing your loop.
