Lots of snow on the ground above about 8,000 feet. We bagged a trip this weekend at 8,000 feet because the wind was howling, the temps were in the low 40s, and sky was overcast. And that was at noon on Saturday.
This week's warm temps may improve things a bit, but be prepared for snow.
The good news is that the trail to May Lake is short...and you can't really get lost, so even if the trail is snow covered, you should be able to figure out how to get to the lake.
You might check with YNP to see if the road to the trailhead will be plowed. If not, you might have a longer hike, and more snow, then you might expect.
