3-4 day trip - end of June - 30-40 miles

Postby odoyle1711 » Tue Jun 10, 2014 8:13 pm

I have been scouring the web and this forum for ideas and have a few, but would love insight into which would be best.

We are group of 3 guys who all have decent backpacking experience. We are looking for a 3 to 4 day trip to cover 30-40 miles. Lakes and views are great.

Ideas that we are currently looking at are the following:
North Rim - Looks like there are a number of ways you can do this one from different trailheads, anyone have any preference?
Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne
Lyell Canyon Vogelsang Loop

Any others? What would you guys recommend? We will probably try to shoot for day of wilderness permits if we leave from Tuolumne.

Those are all good trips. Its the right time of the year for the GC of the Tuolumne.

You'll still see snow at the high passes, even in this low snow year.

You might also look at the East side, Leavitt Meadows for a lollipop loop through Fremont, Cinko, Dorothy Lakes area. It's easier to get permits there, because you self register.
