trail conditions to Vogelsang HSC and beyond?

We're planning a trip (we have permits) for TM, Lyell Canyon, Vogelsang HSC area, and then down to the Valley through Merced HSC and Little Yo. We're flying in from Boston next week and our start date is the 18th. Has anyone been up that way? Any idea what the trails are like? Snow? We've done this route a number of times but never this early. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
