LYV and Merced Lake during Mid Oct??

My friend and I are planning to go backpacking from happy Isle to LYV(1st night) and Merced Lake (2nd night) mid Oct. I wondering what the weather is gonna be? Cold? Wet?

My bet would be cold, dry. But anything could happen, as it's around the transition time to Winter.
