Permits only needed for Half Dome, not other mountains

You do know there are other mountains in Yosemite that have better views, like, North Dome, El Capitan, Clouds Rest....

Frankly, Half Dome is only special because people think it is. Sentinel Dome is almost as high and just as good a view.

You do not need permits to dayhike anywhere but Half Dome. You can dayhike all over the park without a permit.

Backpacking you need wilderness permits, half dome you need a dayhiking permit, everywhere else - nope.
