Wilderness Permit for this weekend

Postby smharped » Wed Jul 13, 2016 3:37 pm

My husband and I are planning on coming up to Yosemite for our first time and we were denied a wilderness permit to Rancheria and Chilnualna Falls...does anyone know the chances of obtaining a walk up the day of? We plan on arriving Friday morning and staying until Sunday. We are open to alternative suggestions and experiences. Thanks so much.

Your statistical odds are 40%. That doesn't factor in the variables of demand or timing. Get to the permit station early to skew those more in your favor.

You guys could also go up Glacier Point Rd and head up Bridalveil Creek toward Ostrander or out from Mono Meadow and up to the Clark Fork along Illilouette Creek for some nice campsites up there.
