Yosemite stores

Postby Backpackerproject » Thu Apr 29, 2010 9:41 am

We are heading to Yosemite early in the morning from the airport and perhaps won´t have enought time to stop at a Valmart to buy groceries or the camping items we need ( e.g. stove). Are the stores in Yosemite much more pricey than super-stores? Should we seek for another place to get all the stuff?

Thank you!

On the bigger things it might be best to stop at a big store. I guess it depends how much you need to buy and what your budget is. If you need a few things, smaller items, you could probably just get them in Yosemite. If you need a lot of things, might as well go to a walmart, target, etc.

He's right, larger items you'll really over pay buying them in the valley. Food is priced higher as well, but the sting isn't as bad. If you are coming from the west, there is a walmart in Merced, also one in Fresno from the south.
