We're taking our first wintertime trip into the valley this weekend (staying at Tenaya Lodge). We're bringing two young kids and just plan on checking out the frazil ice (if it's there yet) and hanging out in the valley.
Does anyone have any tips or recommendations for us? Anything you wished you had known before your first winter visit to Yosemite?

Bring chains first of all. Lots of layers. I don't think the frazil ice starts this early, more like March/April.

We've got the chains and the layers. The folks at Tenaya say the conditions have been spring-like lately, so I thought we might get a little frazil ice. Maybe not.
