Thanks for the insight/advice. Sounds like this trip may be a bit much for 3 days/2 nights which is all the time we have. Will look into the Bernice trip you mentioned.

Ended up doing the Young Lakes. Great area! The large meadow 4 or so miles in is truly spectacular. Spent 1 night at the lowest lake and the 2nd at the highest. Skeeters were terrible at the highest lake but the scenery made up for it. Also did a cross country ramble from the upper lake towards Conness and Roosevelt Lake. The area near the lake and base of Conness is unbelievable and we didn't see a soul in the 4-5 hours we were there. Pics and more can be found here:
