Trail condition on Young Lakes?

Postby mochipoo » Mon Jun 14, 2010 11:03 am

Any trail condition on Young Lakes is appreciated. I have a trip planned on 6/18-20. Snow, water level, flooding? Thanks!

Last time we went there about this time of year it was tough to get across Delaney Creek...and that's a long way short of Young Lakes...

"Flooded Tuolumne Meadows, June 7, 2010. Trails in this area are flooded or snowy, with stream crossings very difficult and dangerous."

It does depend on which trail you are going in on... sort of. Based on what we saw on the way to Glen Aulin, you could be in for a real snow treat. At 8000 feet there was a ton of snow in the woods. If you are not prepared for it, you might want to rethink that trip. There is no way it is all going away in three days.
