Waterwheel Falls is booming

Postby sierranomad » Wed Jun 30, 2010 8:56 am

Hiked to Waterwheel Falls yesterday. Now is the time to go! We saw 3 or 4 people betw TM and GA, then NO ONE past GA!

The other times I've done this hike was in fall; I wasn't really prepared for how boisterous and raging the water was....stunning!

Can't remember what I post where.

How is the trail and snow condition? I am planning a (very) ambitious day hike to waterwheel falls for the long weekend. Is that too optimistic?

No snow on the trail, to speak of. Creeks are full, and trail is under 6-9" of water for several hundred feet past Glen Aulin. I did it as a day hike, but of course, can't say whether it's too ambitious for you.

I put a link to my trail report on another post (http://www.yosemite.ca.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1249), if you want more details and pictures/video.
