I understand that Mt. Dana straddles Yosemite (no dogs allowed) and Inyo National Forest (dogs allowed). Does anyone know whether dogs are permitted on the trail up Dana leaving from near the park entrance? Though I gather that "trail" is a bit of a misnomer as you get to higher elevations.
My leashed dog and I practice leave-no-trace principles and we're looking for a real leg-stretcher near Tioga Pass. I've done Bennettsville and environs, as well as hikes in the 20 lakes basin, though they'd be good for a repeat if need be.
