Hello everyone:
My son and a couple of his friends are going out of Yosemite Creek Campground trailhead on Aug 19-22. We'd like to do the loop from Yosemite Creek Campground to Upper Yosemite Falls to North Dome to Porcupine Flat (w/ a quick stop to see Indian Arch) and then follow the trail along Tioga Road back to Yosemite Creek Campground.
Question: is there trailhead parking at Yosemite Creek Campground, or do we have to park at the trailhead along Tioga Rd.? Being able to park at the campground would save about 4 miles, it seems.
Thanks

Yes, you can park at the campground.
I recommend that you park at the Yosemite Creek TH parking
instead and just go on the trail. Then when you get to the trail
to North Dome (Porc. Crk TH parking)... have someone bum
a ride and get your car.. much easier to get if it's on Tioga.
Why? Well...
a) I highly doubt you will be able to follow the "trail"
from Porc. TH to the Porc. Flat Campground
b) from the Porc. Flat Campground to where it hooks up with
the old tioga road (you have to actually go into the campground)
c) that you will enjoy the old tioga road since they don't maintain
that "trail" (wasn't touched again last year from what I know)
If you like xcountry and such then go for it though. I've done that
route a couple of times... I always park across from Porc. Flat
Campground and go clockwise (I much prefer going up
rivers as opposed to down).
Have fun

Thanks! That was exactly the kind of info I was looking for. We'll probably do as you suggest and have one of us hitch a ride from Pork Ck TH to the Yosemite Ck TH on Tioga. The old Tioga road 'trail' sounds intriguing, but I think we'll save that for another trip.
Would have liked to have started at Pork Ck TH, but couldn't get a reservation for 5 on the 19th.
Thanks again.

You have plenty of time IMO.
A better route IMO is on day 1 to find a spot near Yose Falls.
Day 2 - dayhike to El Cap and back
Day 3 - dayhike to Indian Arch and North Dome and back
Day 4 - go back up the same way you came in
Have fun
