Hi.
Can anyone provide an approximate mileage of the hike from Lil' Yosemite Valley campground to the Bunnell Cascade?
Thanks!

The first cascade after Moraine Dome is approx 2 miles.
That is NOT the Bunnell Cascade but is the first area
after LYV where you are allowed to camp overnight.

If you want to see the real Bunnell Cascade you need to continue
about another mile and 1/4 thru Lost Valley.

Thanks, Bill-e-g!

We're thinking we may have a some time for a day hike to some location from the LYV on our last day (coming in at Devil's Postpile, ending at LYV). If we have time on that last day, Bunnell Cascade seems like the perfect spot. If I read you correctly, it's about 3 1/4 miles one way?

You read correctly...

If you want a much more interesting way to go IMO...
skip Sunrise HSC area... and instead go down Echo Creek to
Echo Valley.... you go by both Cascades on your way to LYV.

The views from Sunrise ARE spectacular though. Beyond there
heading towards LYV via JMT there are some nice views but
the way I just mentioned trumps it by far for scenery.

Yes, you have to hike back up from LYV to get to where you would
have been had you stayed on the trail.
