Last minute advice for a 3 day backpacking trip

Postby Diesel » Wed Sep 22, 2010 8:47 pm

The girlfriend and I have decided to embark on a 3 day backpacking trip in the yosemite high country. We plan to leave this Friday. What I'm thinking is a loop: starting via Lyell perhaps staying at Ireland lake the First night. Not sure where I'd camp the second night but we'd continue to vogelsang, then along Lewis creek, then back around via fletcher and rafferty trail.

Any suggestions as to where to camp? I'm open to considering alternatives to Ireland lake - had just heard good things from others.

We have one alternative trip in mind as well- southeast yosemite high passes loop (we'd do it in four days) if getting a permit for lyell or rafferrt is an issue.

Beautiful mountain scenery/views and nice lakes to camp by/see are what were interested in, otherwise we are open to your thoughts and preferences
