Current Conditions & Water Availability

Postby Board001 » Mon Jun 29, 2015 10:50 am

Good Afternoon Everyone, my wife and I are 24 days away from beginning our first backpacking trip in Yosemite. We have a permit for the Rockslides Trailhead and end at the Mirror Lake Trailhead via the North Rim trail as highlighted in Backpacker Magazine.

Could someone please share with us the current conditions in the park, ie bugs, water availability, and temperatures. According to what I have read, we are expecting temps between 40-90 degrees, is this accurate? Most importantly, anyone with knowledge of water availability on this route that can pass on info would really be appreciated.

Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. My wife and I are experienced east coast, Appalachian backpackers but this will be our first trip in California.

Thank you in advance for your tips and guidance,

A&B
