water in North East creeks late season

Postby richapple » Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:57 am

Piute Creek in upper Slide Canyon, Kerrick Creek, and Matterhorn Creek - all in the Northeast corner of Yosemite - are the creeks I'm wondering about in terms of having water year 'round.

This is a dry enough year that if they ever go dry they would this year, so I'm wondering if anyone in this forum has any experience with them in a dry year.

Thanks,

Kerrick Creek? I guess you mean Rancheria.

Anyway, don't worry, there will be some water in all those creeks
year-round.

Ooops, yeah... Rancheria Creek. Runs through Kerrick this and that (meadow/canyon).

Thanks much for the info!

Just got back a few days ago from Upper Slide Canyon area, and there was plenty of water doing down through the Slide, which is Piute Creek. It's not a raging torent, but enough for the fish to survive in while I drowned a few fake flies.
