Knights Ferry. Bond for $5000 in connection with the ferry known as Knight’s ferry and also with Keeler’s ferry, filed Oct. 11, 1856, and signed by the four partners, John C. Dent, Lewis Dent, George W. Dent and D. M. Locke.

Knights Ferry. Petition to the Board of Supervisors of Stanislaus Co., begun Aug. 1, 1856; filed Oct. 13, 1856, requesting a license for Thos. W. Lane and others to erect a toll bridge or build a suitable ferry at the (then) present crossing at Knights Ferry. Signed by Palmer and Allen, merchants, and 70 others.

Knights Ferry. Statement that, on Nov. 1, 1856, all the ferry franchise appertaining to Knight’s and Keeler’s ferries was sold to “Mr. D. M. Lock.” Signed “Dent & Bro.”

Knights Ferry. Notice that the undersigned intends to apply to the Board of Supervisors of Stanislaus County for a license to build a bridge across the Stanislaus River immediately above the Stanislaus Mills. Dated December 4, 1856. Signed D. M. Locke.
